What to expect from AI in 2023

Good morning fellow AI enthusiasts!

You know that thing where you don't realize how dependent on modern amenities (like carrying around the entire wealth of human information in our pockets) you are until the power goes out?

Well as of hitting the send button on this email, ChatGPT is down.

According to https://status.openai.com/ the API and Playground Site are both still up and running, but the web interface itself is experiencing an outage. Hopefully for everyone out there suffering it's back online before you know it.

Today we'll be going over what to expect from AI in 2023.

Lets get right into it.

The growth of open source and decentralized initiatives explodes

In 2022, OpenAI, Stability AI, and Midjourney emerged as dominant players in the industry.

However, in 2023, the trend may shift towards the use of open-source solutions as the capability to create new AI systems becomes more accessible to a wider range of organizations.

Increased Demand for GPUs Continues

In 2022 we had gotten some temporary relief from the demand for crypto mining on the GPU market. But I don't expect that to last.

As more applications founded on deep learning technology emerge demand for GPUs will continue to soar.

An exploding job market for AI and ML engineers

One thing is for certain; this technology isn't going away and the machine learning job market is poised to experience a boom as demand increases.

Huge advancements in no-code solutions

One of the things that GPT-3 seems to excel at is writing and debugging code.

In the immediate future, I expect this to lead to major advancements in the development of no or low-code development tools.

More Apps like Lensa

Following the widespread popularity of Lensa, an AI-powered selfie app developed by Prisma Labs, it is all but certain that similar apps will continue to emerge on the market.

What are your productions for AI in 2023? Do you think I'm spot on? Way off base?

I'd love to hear what you think!

Until next time,Alex
